John Forbes Nash.

John Forbes Nash is a Mathematician who was born in June, 1928 in Bluefield, Virginia. We currently know him because of the film "A beautiful mind" which is based on his life. Let's talk about him:

In his early life, he was a lonely child, in fact, they say that his main feature was his egocentrism. He didn't play with othe children, he just spent most of his time reading. When he was fourteen he began to be interested in maths and chemistry, then, on 1942, he went into school for first. He was going to study for being an engineer, however, he changed his opinion (with his teacher's help) when he saw his incredible abilityfor Maths, then, he accepted a scholarship for doctorate in mathemathics. On 1957 he met Alice, the girls who was going to be his wife, he spent a great time, but then, a year after their marriage he was diagnosed with schizophrenia, since that moment, all changed. Being only 30 years old, he began to have hallucinations, at first, he believed it was all truth, but he inally found the way of living with it by knowing that the things he saw weren't real.
Nowadays, he is still alive with 84 years old of life, 84 years for giving us a lot of his knowledge of mathematics but also, like theories that we can currently use in our lives like "The Nash equlibrium".

As I've said before, there's a lovely film about his life, so, if you want to know more, let's see it. In addition of being interesting, it have a lot of social messages to give us, messages about love, fellowship, and about fighting for our lives and being ourselves. I think we all must see that film, he deserve it, we deserve it.

The music of today.

Every century the music suffers an enormous change,  we can't compare the music of today to music twenty years ago.Of course there are groups which are trying to keep the wonderful style of the 80's but maybe they aren't that famous. It seems like we've change the sound of a guitar for the sound of a machine, that's not a bad thing but i think we need to balance.

An interesting thing is that almost 80% of the music that we listen on the radio is in English and almost the 69% times we don't understand what the song is telling us. We must search the lyrics and try to translate it, a song needs both things, music and lyrics, all together. Despite of it, i would like to hear music in another languages. By the way, what about Spanish music? hen you ask Spanish people about Spanish music, the biggest part of the people answer that it's the worst one. I want to believe that they don't really know what they're saying, maybe they have listened the worst songs, I just don't know it, maybe it's me, maybe i'm an alien.

Music is a wonderful, magic and essential thing in our human life, as they say, "Every moment has its music" We've to try to give a chance for every kind of music, only to try, because maybe we are loosing the opportunity of finding our own style by following the ot
hers. We must open our ears to the explosion of art and creativity, we can't just listen the music that they put us in the habitual radio. If you really love music, you have to search, you have to find yourself in music and never stop discovering it. Then you'll be able to tell us where you are in the music world and which is your place knowing that you aren't wrong.

Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde

"Have you ever wished to be someone else? Have you ever looked at someone you know and thought, 'He does what he wants'. Why shouldn't i do what i want? And have you ever thought that if you looked like someone else, only for one day, you would be free to do Anything you wanted? And nobody could blame you..."

Sounds interesting, don't you think so? This is the wonderful introduction of the book that I've read in my Christmas holydays, it's named "Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde" and it's a very famous story by a very famous writer who is Robert Louis Stevenson. I'm going to talk you a little bit about the story and then I'd like to talk about the author too.

Well it's about a scientist, the Dr Jeckyl, who wants to know if it's possible to change into another person or into another body . He finally finds the way to create "Mr Hyde", the way to stay into Mr Hyde's body, and look completely different but still being himself. But then it begins a problem, and it's that Mr Hyde becomes evil. The personality of Dr Jeckyl begins to be divided in two parts, the first, all goodness and love, appears with Jeckyl, and the second, all malice and hatred, with Mr Hyde. At the end he can't control his own changes of body and the bad part wins the good one, Dr jeckyl disappears forever for being only mr Hyde, only evil, only a monster.

Well about the author, he's Robert LouisStevenson,  and he was a Scottish novelist. He born in 1850 in Scotland and he died in 1894 with only 44 years old. His most famous books were, the treasure island (i think this is the most famous), dr jeckyl and mr hyde and kidnapped, but i didn't know anything about the third one.

Well finally, about my personal opinion I've loved this book I think it's a very interesting story and in fact I want to read the real version because I've read an  adaptation. I recommend it to everybody, it's very easy to read. One of the things that I liked more about the book, it's strange but it was the introduction, i think it's pretty beautiful, and a good consideration.

A day to remember.

The last Friday, 15 of february it was a day to remember. It was a perfect day for me I spent it all with my friends by doing a lot of different things. It was the birthday’s party of one of my best friends, Paula, it was going to be at 5:30 hours but when we went out to school we remembered that we hadn’t got any present for her! Then we went to buy it in Valencia but we did it with only 1 hour of time, it seems enough but it’s not easy to find the perfect present. When we finished there we went to the river to meet the other girls and Paula’s too, it was going to start the picnic and… well we all love to eat so it was a great thing to do. After eating we were talking and laughing and then it arrived the hour of the presents, we gave them to her and , by looking her face you could see that she was happy and surpristed, it was a wonderful present. After all the presents we began to make photos making strange faces and funny possitions. It was lovely. It was begining to make cold so we decide to move ourselves, they were the 7:30 hours and we went to her house to prepare ourselves for the second part of the birthday: a wonderful concert. We made our dinner and we went to the place where it was going to be the concert, it was a concert of the “Primavera Valenciana” it was like a kind of little fight we made against the government cuts. It was magycal, they sang 20 different groups, finally it bécame long but it didn’t matter, we spent a great time aqually. When it finished we went to sleep to Paula’s house and we finished the day there, all togheter, it was a day to repeat, i love them too much and i hope to have them by my side in many other days.

For my german girl.

Hello Paula.
I'm Paula (what a coincidence..) and i'm your Spanish ..... companion? I don't know how to say that.... Well this is the first time that I write to you and it's only to say that you'll be welcome to Spain and to tell you a few things about me and my family... well I begin with my family.. (i think is easier to talk about them)
Well about my mother, her name's Mayte and you have to know that she doesn't know anything about english but she loves to try to expresate herself by signs, she is so funny trying to make understand (you'll love her way to express a thing), about Benja, he's my mother's boyfriend and he's able to talk in English (vocabulary etz...) but I think my mother's even better with pronuntiation, don't worry i'll try to be a good translator.

Well about my pet family, I have two dogs and one cat, now we have just changed our house and they are still trying to adapt theirselves for being together (it's the first time that my dog tries to live with a cat and sometimes it's a little bit difficult) I hope that when you came this would be better but don't worry they are so good and i'm sure you'll end up loving them as much as I do :)
And about me, I think there are not so much things to say, I love dancing, singing or any other thing. Now i'm trying to play guitar (only triying), when I began i thinked it was going to be easier but i think that my fingers doesn't agree with that :) Well seriosly, I love to do a lot of things so don't worry because I can adapt myself on any plan.

I'm looking foward having your answer. Hope to see you soon.

Paula

Carnival.

The last friday 8 of february it was carnival! But it wasn't a usual carnival, it was our last carnival in the school. We decided to disguise ourselves as "The lord of the rings" I'm proud about that because we were the only group that decided to be together , it was great! Each one was a character of the book as Gandalf, Saruman, Bilbo and things like these. I disguised myself as a bird, specifically as a "Griffin", it's a mythological animal and it's supposted to be the most big and elegant one that have ever existed. I was all dressed in white and from my back to my hands i had two big and magical wings (painted by me). I chose that costume because I would have like to look like an Indian, surrounded by feathers and with a braid done in my hair. At the end I looked more like a bird than like an Indian but I was pretty enough to accept it. Doing the costume, making photos and walking along the school with it was good but after, the activities and the music were even better. We spent the day dancing with a game of the "Wii" and singing with the music that teachers putted to us. Another lovely thing was the costume contest, we walked along the canteen showing our costumes and also we made a kind of funny "coreography" by showing it. This year we are in ESO 4 and it's a tradition to dress up one of the students as "The Carnival King" this year, I have been this student. I dressed up myself like a queen and i went into the primary classrooms to give some sweets to the kids. It was wonderful and all of them were joyfully, i would like to repeat the experience. I hope to have more carnivals like this one I spent a great, wonderfull and magical day.

If my house was burning.

Name: Paula Segura Lacasa
Age: 15
Location: Valencia, Spain
Ocuppation: Student of ESO 4
List:
1.     My Mp4
2.     A pen drive
3.     Photo Albums
4.     Ballet trips
5.     Two (or more) CD’s
6.     A box with letters
7.     My teddy
8.     Sachet with quartz stones
If my house was burning the first thing that i would take is my Mp4 because i have there all my music, and I like to listen music every moment, I think there’s a song for all circumstances. I would take my pen drive because I have all my last computer, texts, photos, videos, I would not leave my house without it. The third thing is my photo albums because they have very old photos with very old memories that I can’t put in my computer and I couldn’t lose them. Other things are my ballet trips or some CD’s of my favorite singers.  I would take too my box with letters that my friends wrote to me when we were child, my teddy, because I have it since I born and my parents give it to me, and the last, a sachet with quartz stones, because that remember me of a wonderful New year, a wonderful travel.
